SBN – Missing Childrens’ Network
SBN is not bound politically or religiously to any particular faith or party. We are a non-profit organization which offers support and advice to
families exposed to illegal child-abduction or retention of a child in a foreign nation. We are a network made up of families who have been, or who still are, subjected to a child-abduction. Our network also contains many volonteers who offer their expertise within differing areas, such as: translation, law etc.
We have experiences working with varying cases in countries on all continents, and we continously update our global contacts in different
countries. We have several foreign judgements to share with you and volonteers abroad who stand ready to help you.
Do you live abroad and want to join our network? Send us an email and tell us more about yourself and what you can aid us with. We are particularly looking for people who can offer up housing or who have connections within media, information, law, religion, psychology, language or politics. Or, any other resources that may aid afflicted families in need of help. Thank you in advance for lending a helping hand!
Our network is here to help in case you are afraid your child might be abducted, when your child has been abducted and of course we are here to help once your child has been recovered. We offer our services in all three of these areas (pre-during and post-abduction) and all of our help is absolutely free of charge. And anybody that you speak to within our network is bound to professional secrecy.
We are not bound by any agency or auhtority (Swedish or foreign) and anything you divulge to us will never be passed on anywhere without your expressed consent. We are here to help you to the best of our ability, with advice in your specific case and to get you in contact with others who may better assist you.
You are never alone! And we can assist you in getting in contact with others who have been in your place. Most of the children within the network has been returned home, and it’s important that you know that there are no hopeless cases. Even though it sometimes might feel that way. We know how dark it sometimes feels and what an uphill battle it is to fight alone for your child. You don’t have to be alone in this. Together we are stronger!
We are also here for you who have been accused of abducting or retaining your child. We have a lot of contacts and knowledge within this field and our goal is always to try to resolve these very tense situations so that the child can return home and stability be restored to your co-parenting.
It is never advisebale to remove a child from their home-environment. This is a crime in almost every country. It is also a trauma for the child and an abduction is a crime against UN’s Bill of Children’s Rights. We understand that there are severe conflicts at the bottom of every
child-abduction, and we have a collected experience of many of these types of situations, so wheather you are subject to or the perpetrator of this act: we can help.
SBN continously and actively works to change laws and regulations in Sweden concerning child-abduction. We collaborate with politicians and
other influential people, and we are involved in writing and debating in the media.
We can assist you in raising funds if you are without menas, once your child is abducted. We can help you get out into media, if you wish and need to. We will help you track your child via our international channels. We have sought and found out and brought back several children in the last couple of years. There is always hope, and it’s never to late. Every child should and will be found!
It’s each child’s right, and our joint responsibilty as adults in a secure and just state, like Sweden, not to forget about missing children.
We encourage you to contact SBN in Swedsih, English or in the other Nordic languages for direct communication. Are you a speaker of another language we would be aided if you can find someone who can write or speak to us in English. Our ambition is to answer each email within 48 hours upon receipt. We are always here for you, so do not hesitate to contact us.
