About SBN in English

There are many families who have been linked together as Missing Childrens’ Network, in Swedish: Saknade Barns Nätverk – SBN.
All who work within SBN are affected families; who have had a child abducted or who are still missing a child.
We also have many other people connected to the network, both professionals in their fields, and dedicated individuals who want to help, relatives of other victims, translators etc.
Almost everyone can contribute something.
Our contact lists are very long. If you need help the first step is to email us at: info@saknadebarn.org.

Missing Childrens’ Network (SBN) is entirely dependent on volunteers to carry out our activities. Would you or someone you know like to help SBN? Our whole concept is built on generous, warm-hearted and dedicated neighbours wanting to contribute in various ways to improve the situation of affected families and children. Volunteers receive no pay, but their knowledge, skills and contacts will be both highly appreciated and gratefully received.
If you are not fluent in Swedish we can still use your help. Contact us for a form to fill out.

We need you, whoever you are, if you want to do something for us or if you possess special skills, experiences or anything else that might be useful.

For example, we are looking for:

-People who personally, directly or indirectly, been affected by international child abduction.
• If you want to write letters to authorities and others and help us put pressure on the courts when needed.
• People who speak other languages who can help translate documents, letters, inquiries, etc.
• People have access to a home abroad and who are willing to lend it out every now and then to victims/parents who must travel there.
• If you are specialized in various essential areas, such as IT, politics, journalism, psychology, religion, law, etc, we need your skills.
• People who have good contacts abroad in various other fields.
• Do you run a business that might set up and donate or support us with something, such as paper, printing products, telephones etc.?
Whoever you are and whatever you think that you can do to help – please do not hesitate, email us at info@saknadebarn.org and fill out our form so we can sort you in to the right department.

WELCOME TO SBN’s VOLUNTARY WORKERS!
Get involved – together we make a difference!

We are a non-profit organization and we humbly accept donations, small and large. Donate via our Swedish bankgiro: 399-9133

SBN’s vision is a Sweden where no children are removed from their homes illegally. In cases where this still occurs, Sweden will actively seek out and bring home the abducted children and on an international level work for that the Hague Convention will be respected by all states.
Our goal is to spread knowledge and create an active debate and alert public opinion on child abduction – in order to improve the laws and rules and get the authorities to more actively intervene. We will also help parents to prevent child abduction and to support parents whose children are unjustly taken away from them.
We have in collaboration with MP Annelie Enochson (Senate representative) made a motion to parliament that was filed in the fall of 2009.

We are constantly working on our manifesto to bridge gaps in the current system and ideas about what can be done for our children.

SBN is a politically and religiously independent organization.

SBN respects everyone’s human rights.
SBN does not charge for our services.

SBN supports the parent(s) of abducted children, who are left behind. We never disclose information about any cases that SBN handles; we respect everyone’s right to privacy.

SBN follows the laws of Sweden.
SBN is transparent and openly reports our activities.

The support we receive from private individuals, associations, companies or agencies, is transparent in accordance with applicable laws.
